Short-term MACE risk in chest pain patients in the emergency department
The HEART score was developed to identify chest pain patients at low risk for MACE (major adverse cardiac events) who may be safely discharged from the ED without further workup.

|---|---|---|---|
| 0β3 | Low | ~1.7% | Early discharge, outpatient follow-up |
| 4β6 | Moderate | ~12% | Observation, serial troponins, possible stress test |
| 7β10 | High | ~65% | Admission, early invasive strategy |
