qSOFA Performance
| Score | Interpretation | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 0–1 | Low risk | Monitor; reassess if clinical condition changes |
| ≥2 | High risk — sepsis suspected | Obtain blood cultures; full SOFA; escalate care; consider ICU |
qSOFA = AMS (1) + RR ≥22 (1) + SBP ≤100 (1)
Score range: 0–3
Sensitivity ~70% | Specificity ~79% for sepsis organ dysfunction in non-ICU suspected infection
Score range: 0–3
Sensitivity ~70% | Specificity ~79% for sepsis organ dysfunction in non-ICU suspected infection
Important: qSOFA ≥2 should trigger full SOFA calculation and clinical escalation. qSOFA is a screening tool — it has lower sensitivity than full SOFA. A negative qSOFA does NOT exclude sepsis. Always apply clinical judgement.
